About Me

Hi! I'm Kelsey, the girl behind Messy Momma Life. I call Lehi, Utah home, for at least a little while.

But before I was married, and long before becoming a mommy, I was a home-schooled girl living in southern Missouri. That doesn't mean I have no social skills and am completely clueless to how the world works, but it does mean that I had a lot of time to read and work on crafts. You can find my current list of what I am reading in the sidebar on the left. I love just about any kind of fiction book except for horror/suspense. I get nightmares and can't be in my house even with people in the same room as me, haha. I have also been trying to read more non-fiction, so you can keep tabs on what I am currently studying there, too.

I also can do just about any kind of craft, but forget about getting advice from my blog. I am just as much of a beginner as you. 😊 BUT, you will find posts about just about every craft I do. So if you would like good ideas (or to feel better about your own skills), check out those posts!

After high school, I met and married this hunk, Matthew. He received his Bachelors in Communication at Missouri State University, and is graduated in 2019 from Utah School of Massage Therapy, or Cortiva, which is the new name. He also took a few classes in the Theater program at the University of Utah, but he is currently pursuing an acting/film making career without taking classes.

We have been married for a little over 6 years and have three little boys. We love having these three in our lives, and have lots of fun raising them!

In the few years I have had my boys, I quickly realized there is a major pressure to discipline, eat, dress, and act a certain way as a mommy, and I quickly realized how hard it can be. My life doesn't conform to a certain lifestyle, and no one should feel like that is how it is. Not one life is perfect, and we need to be okay with that.

A leader from my church said this: "Comparing our own seemingly average existence with others’ well-edited, perfectly crafted lives as represented on social media may leave us with feelings of discouragement, envy, and even failure..."
"...With so many appropriate and inspired uses of technology, let us use it to teach, inspire, and lift ourselves and to encourage others to become their finest—rather than to portray our idealized virtual selves." "Spiritual Eclipse"

I have wanted to try my hand at this whole blogging thing for a while. But it wasn't until I heard this that I knew what I wanted to do. Hence the start of Messy Momma Life.

This blog is just my everyday life, with photos that are not very edited or taken in the best light, haha. Take a look around and get inspired to embrace your own messy life! I hope you see what you came here to find!
